About Us

Creating smiles that last a lifetime!

Ridgemount Dental Practice is a family-oriented surgery, which prides itself on its dedication to providing the highest quality treatment to all patients, tailored specifically to their individual needs.

The dental treatment and areas of practice which we offer include both cosmetic and general dentistry. Whilst the practice does not have funding to provide treatment to patients on the NHS, we have taken measures to ensure that dentistry is more affordable.

Dr. T.S. Kumar

Dentist

Dr. Sujit Kumar is an experienced and passionate dentist who, after qualifying from the University of Oslo in Norway in 1999, joined Victoria Road Dental Care in Horley, Surrey. He then proceeded to establish Ridgemount Dental Practice in 2008. Over the last few years, the practice has flourished primarily on the referrals of existing patients, greatly satisfied with the treatment they have received.

Dr. Kumar is not only known to his patients for his transformation of their smiles, but he is also particularly renowned for the relaxed and informal environment he creates in his surgery to put his patients at ease.

Dr. Kumar has a special interest in cosmetic dentistry, especially 'smile makeovers', which include teeth whitening, porcelain veneers, full ceramic crowns, bridges and white fillings.

Our Practice Policy

One of the main aims of the practice is to fully satisfy our patients with the quality of our service. Therefore, we take complaints very seriously. Please refer to our complaints procedure if you wish to make a complaint.

Complaints in writing should be addressed to our practice manger, Alija Falzun. Alternatively, you may ask for an appointment with Alija in order to discuss your concerns. She will explain the complaints procedure to you and will make sure that your concerns are dealt with promptly and effectively. Please be as specific as possible about the nature of the complaint.

Our Practice Aims

  • The practice is provided with the necessary equipment so that we are able to create a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere in which to treat our patients.
  • We welcome, and are always happy to receive, your comments which can be placed in the suggestion box in the waiting room.
  • We provide a written treatment plan, including costs.
  • We provide information on all the different treatment options available and their costings.
  • We advice patients on their oral health and how regularly they need to see the dentist.
  • We advice patients on how to prevent tooth decay and gum diseases.

Appointments

We always endeavour to see patients at the appointed time. However, if you are kept waiting there is usually a good reason, please be patient.

Missing booked appointments is a waste of the time and resources which could be needed by other patients. It is our practice policy that if a patient should cancel less than 24 hours prior to their appointment or does not attend on more than one occasion, they will be charged for the appointment. We will, of course, take any special circumstances into account.

Patient's responsibilities

  • Please inform us if you have to cancel or change an appointment as promptly as possible.
  • Always follow your dentist's advice on how to prevent tooth decay and gum disease.
  • Please pay your bill promptly.

We have ground floor facilities which are suitable for disabled patients, including access for patients in a wheelchair. Furthermore, our toilet facilities are equipped to cater for patients who are disabled.

Children are always welcome at the practice, however young they may be. Our aim is to prevent dental diseases rather than to treat them at a later stage.

During a patient's visit, babies and young children can be looked after by our friendly reception staff, if necessary.

We speak English, Norwegian, Tamil, Dutch and Afrikaans within the practice.

Anxious ?

We fully understand that some patients may experience a profound anxiety about dentistry. Please discuss any fears you may have with us so we are able to do everything we can to help.

Protection

As a caring practice, we undertake all necessary precautions to safeguard both patients and staff against blood-borne infections, such as AIDS and Hepatitis. We follow recommended guidelines with regard to the sterilisation of instruments and the use of disposable items.

Keep us informed

We may ask you about any medicines that you are currently taking. Please make a note of their names prior to your appointment and inform us of them when you attend.

Occasionally, we may also ask you to complete a confidential medical history questionnaire to assist in our diagnoses and treatment.

If you should have a change of address or telephone number, please let us know as soon as possible.

This ensures that our records remain up to date and makes our recall system more efficient.

Confidentiality

Our practice strictly maintains the confidentiality of patients' records and information at all times. Patient records will not be passed on to any third parties without the patient's express permission.

Abusive or violent behaviour

We have a zero tolerance policy regarding patients who display violent or abusive behaviour towards practice personnel, other patients or anyone else on the practice premises. Anyone who exhibits such behaviour will be refused treatment and reported to appropriate authorities.
